Smoked out at the Downieville Classic

The Hive made an appearance at the smoky but ever-rocking Downieville Classic 2008. The drive up from home base in Petaluma was daunting. The air quality varied from lightly smoggy at home to wheeze inducing in Auburn to “maybe sitting in the river and drinking beer is a good pre-race strategy” in Downieville. Never ones to let signs of the impending apocalypse get in the way of a good time, we set up camp downtown and went to work. Shuttles, beer and bourbon were the order of the weekend.
