Are REVL brakes compatible with the new Dura-Ace™ 7900 shifters/levers? I hear the REVL Rockarolla is interchangeable. What's up with that?

The Hive offers two rocker options, labeled with the approximate leverage ratio provided by the rocker. The force gain is either "1.3"or "1.4". The 1.3 leverage ratio is appropriate for Dura-Ace™ 7800 and prior, Campagnolo™, and SRAM™ products. 1.4 is for Dura Ace™ 7900, and UltegraSL™/6700. Note: 1.4 can be run on any lever for more rim crushing force, but it may result in a soft lever feel. The point is, you have options.

How far away from the rim should the pads be when I set up the REVL brake?

We recommend 2mm of clearance between the rim and pads for best performance.

I am having trouble centering my brake. What should I do?

The center pivot can be used to center your REVL brake. Insert a 5mm allen key into the front of the center pivot and turn in either direction until, when actuating the brake lever, the arms move the same distance on both sides. It only takes a slight adjustment of the spring to make to properly center your brake.

If you've centered your brake and it won't stay centered, the cable housing is usually the culprit. Cable housing essentially acts as a spring in the system that forces the brake out of center. If your brake consistently comes out of center, try shortening the cable housing so it has less effect on the right brake arm. Be sure the housing is long enough that the housing comes into the cable adjuster in a straight line.

I have carbon rims. Can I use the stock Swissstop™ pads supplied with REVL brakes?

You can, but it is not recommended. Since the construction and resin in each brand of carbon rim is different, you should defer to your carbon rim supplier's recommended brake pad.

Do REVL brakes really have braking force equivalent to top-level dual pivots?

Yes. We've engineered a cam that increases mechanical advantage in the system. The result is we can build a brake that performs as well as dual pivot competitors, but has a significant weight advantage.
